Until recently, luxury cruises were always limited to Singapore-Malaysia, Bahamas & European sectors. For the first time in India, we now have our very own 5 star cruise liner called Cordelia Cruises. The ship that once ruled the seas in the Bahamas is now in India exploring the east & west coasts. Be it a short stay or a week long stay , Cordelia cruises offers multiple options for all kinds of travelers across all age groups. I had the opportunity to take a 3nighter from Goa to Mumbai via a half day stopover in Lakshadweep. So here’s my detailed Cordelia Cruise Experience and information about all its available facilities inside

Cordelia Cruise Routes

Cordelia primarily operates on two routes (Goa Mumbai Kochi Lakshadweep on the west coast) and (Vishakapatnam-Pondicherry-Chennai) on the east coast

West Coast Route – Between Oct to May

Cruise Room Tour

Cordelila cruise has multiple room types. These include Interior room , Ocean view staterooms, executive suites (with balcony facing the sea) and a Chairman’s suite as well. Ideally the difference between interior and ocean view rooms differ by 5-10K per room for a couple.

The room comes with the following amenities

• 24 inch television with limited entertainment channels, live feed of upper deck
• Comfortable double bed(or twin bed)

• Private Shower Cabinet and Bathroom
• Bathroom towers & even a Pool Towel

If you are confused on which room to choose (ocean view or interior view), think about the budget if it fits you. If it’s well within your budget and want to celebrate in a special way, the ocean view room is definitely memorable. Interior room has the same amenities as Oceanview state room, the only thing lacking is a window though. However you can always step out and enjoy the fresh breeze and ocean views on the side areas of the deck or Upper deck.

Food

One of the key things about sailing anywhere is that, unless your food is of the highest quality, it can turn out to be a really poor experience. Cordelia, in my opinion, ranks very high on the food quality. With fresh food prepared for every meal and so many varieties to choose from every single meal, you can never feel hungry nor bored on 3-4nighter .

Cordelia has 2 buffet restaurants , namely Starlight & All-Day Dining that can be availed as part of the package along with a private ala carte dining restaurant called Chopstix

As part of the ticket, you can avail 5 meals a day including : Breakfast, Lunch, High Tea, Dinner and Midnight snacks (yes, you should definitely try out the latter).

Activities

Be it two nights or five nights, you can never be bored inside the Cruise. Its like a mini city inside the oceanliner. From Swimming to Spas, there’s a plethora of activities one can indulge in.

To make it more easier, Cordelia also has detailed itinerary sheets that you can find under the room door everyday morning. Based on your room floor (to be read as deck) , it gives you the activities you can indulge in.

Inside their 750 seater auditorium ,you also have performances from artists worldwide , be it American Ballet, Magic Shows or even a Punjabi dance drama show. Be it 5 years or 50 years , there’s a show for everyone

What to Expect from the Cordelia Cruise

Cruising on a large ship for three nights can be a wholly different experience for a lot of people. Watching the massive ship go on the seas can be an unforgettable sight. A 13 floor, 750room cruise is in fact way larger than the ones you even saw on Titanic. With a very mild swaying during high waves time, the sailing experience can be overall extremely smooth.

The food prepared is of the highest quality and has always been prepared keeping in mind that it can be adjusted to all kinds of people. The concept of sea sickness is generally present during smaller boat rides in rough weather. But here you won’t even feel the sailing movement and it’s extremely smooth all along.

There is no cell network once the ship starts sailing . However Satellite Wifi is available at a cost. However the wifi speeds are limited and can be used for messaging and calling only and not for streaming purposes.

More than the activities, dance, music etc, the biggest experience is to be part of one of the largest cruises in the world and experience sailing in the Arabian sea (or Bay of Bengal) in ultimate luxury.
